My vacation has taken me from Portland to San Francisco, but here’s a view of DC’s weekend (from 3,000 miles away). Photo courtesy FFFOUND.
The Plan
- Friday: First, get your food truck on at the monthly Truckeroo festival. Then, head to BYT’s vitaminwater uncapped LIVE. While heavy on advertising, it’s a great art and performance space. Tonight’s festivities kick off with Clockwork DJ Chris Nitti at 6pm, followed by Painted Face, Lightwaves, and Beyond Modern. Get there early for unlimited John L. Sullivan whiskey, a personal favorite.
- Saturday: Dance your pain away, either at DC9 (KIDS) or U Hall (Willy Joy and Smalltown DJs).
- Sunday: It might not be The Dark Knight, but X-Men: First Class looks like it will get the franchise back on track. Late night, it’s time for Tropixxx. Duh.
The Soundtrack
Jacques Greene is one of the best purveyors of rhythm and bass. His hour-long stint on Rinse FM is one of his finest mixes yet; any DJ mix that kicks off with The Weeknd is good in my book.
